Your Light & Impact in Ghana
“Impact Makers” and “Light Bearers”: they’re not just names for groups of people meeting together. They’re the purpose and power behind communities of survivors in Ghana.
The groups bring together survivors of child trafficking. Though they may have felt isolated and alone before, now they have a family of fellow survivors. They are able to share their stories, heal together, walk towards self-empowerment and be trained in life skills.
Not only that, but the groups also exist to combat future trafficking. The groups are led by survivors who are pursuing safe communities through justice systems that protect the most vulnerable.
Thanks to supporters like you, more and more chapters are being established around the world… and more and more survivors are receiving the help they need and deserve.
Josephine, a leader from the “Light Bearers” group, reflects on just how far her fellow survivors have come.
“They have gone from feeling alone, afraid and powerless to feeling supported, self- assured and personally empowered to advocate for justice. They feel more hopeful, and it has also given them a chance to develop leadership skills.”
Thank you for the important role you’ve played in survivors’ journeys just like these.
Because when you give to IJM, when you tell a friend about this fight for justice, when you invite a loved one to an IJM event… you bear light and make impact for the Global Survivor Network in Ghana and beyond!
